1952 BRM Mk1 V16 supercharged 485 bhp @ 12,000 rpm. A superbly detailed Limited Edition Print of 250 signed by the artist Tony Matthews. The famous V16 engine started life in 1946 when Peter Berthon and Eric George Richter designed an engine that they expected to produce 500bhp at 12,000rpm, which was an unbelievably high revving engine for those days. British Racing Motors, or BRM, was a group of automotive suppliers and engineering companies that had come together to put Great Britain at the front of the Grand Prix grid and overshadow the pre-war dominance of Auto Union and Mercedes. Unfortunately, the cars failed to achieve this aim in the World Championship, partly due to changes in the F1 regulations. However, away from the spotlight of the World Championship the BRM V16 achieved 15 wins, 13 second places and 9 third places between 1950 and 1955. Among the drivers to sit behind the wheel were Juan Manuel Fangio, Stirling Moss, Peter Collins, Reg Parnell and Ron Flockhart.
