The BRM Collection (Volume Two 1954-55)
Product Reference: TSV15

As the World Championship was for F2 cars, the BRMs were only eligible for Formule Libre races in 1952-53, but there was still one F1 event in the calendar, at Albi. The V16s were plagued by thrown tyre treads and lost a certain victory. In 1954 a shorter, lighter version of the V16 appeared, running as a test bed for the new 2.5-litre F1 BRM. For the same purpose the Owen Organisation bought a 250F Maserati. Ron Flockhart joined Ken Wharton on the team and both scored some minor victories. In 1955 Peter Collins moved from Vanwall to BRM and won a couple of races in the V16 and one in the Maserati. Then the new F1 BRM made a dramatic debut at Oulton Park, only to be forced out by a faulty oil pressure gauge!
